Through the production of personal projects this semester, I have learned a lot of knowledge and application of special effects production. First of all, I have a deeper understanding of the concept of model design and creation, and at the same time have a deeper understanding of special effects synthesis technology. In order to use it more skilfully, in terms of model creation, I have a more skilled application of model UV dismantling, and a deeper understanding of model material design and creation. At the same time, I have a better understanding of model lighting Design and adjustment have further in-depth understanding and application. As I chose to create a composite for my aerial footage over the Thames river, it is very important to restore the state of the light at that time, I tried various types of HDRI lighting effects and a series of lighting methods and adjustments to the details, and finally largely restored the lighting conditions in the video, which will have a better effect on the synthesis of the model. Afterwards, I imported the inverse camera using camera tracking in nuke into the scene of the spaceship model and rendered the exr raw footage needed for the compositing. Through the design and production of the above steps, I have a more in-depth understanding and knowledge of the adjustment of the scene light and design process. After I finished making the original footage for the composite, I started working in nuke, first I adjusted the color and tone of the original spacecraft image sequence footage and the aerial video footage to make them consistent, then I isolated and adjusted the different aov channels of the exr footage of the spacecraft, and adjusted the details of the spacecraft more delicately to make it more realistic in the picture, which made me appreciate very deeply that every detail is very important for the composite work. At the same time, in order to strengthen the treatment of details, after completing the color and tone adjustment, I then proceeded to create the heat wave generated by the tail of the aircraft, I selected the area affected by the heat wave through roto, and then synthesized a noise map in the selected area, and then adjusted the size and density of this noise map, so as to obtain the effect of the heat wave generated by the tail engine of the airship, which has a very significant increase in the realism of the synthesis effect. After that, I have used the previously designed animation of the model into nuke, through the nuke scene for the construction of point light source for the reflection of the ship projected on the river surface to produce, on top of this, I use the grade mask for the point light source to produce the spaceship shadow. Finally, I added a sound effect for the video of the spaceship. Through the production of this video, I have a more in-depth understanding of the use of CG compositing technique.
